An Ellen Update

Hello to all my friends!

A few weeks ago I introduced you to my friend Ellen who was through the roof with perimenopause symptoms.  In the interest of our friendship I took her to see Dr. Lee to mellow her ass out!  She’s been on the bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for about five weeks now and she can’t thank me enough for referring her (I’m enjoying this Goddess-like pedestal she’s put me on!).

Anyways, I’ll let Ellen tell you in her own words how she’s feeling.  Enjoy!

    Hi Girls,

Okay, what exactly are you on that is making this huge difference and how much of each medication. Just wondering what is helping you so much. I can’t waint to be where you are. It is coming, slowly but surely.
    Thanks,

  • Dear Bev,

The truth is telling you exactly what I am taking won’t help you, I wish it would! Remember every individual has different needs. The hormones, the supplements, and the nutrition program all work together like a formula tailored specifically for you. My treatment wouldn’t work for you and vice versa. This is why I stress to everyone- get TESTED by a BodyLogicMD physician.

You can see from my results (posted on November 25th) exactly what was out of balance in my system. I had way too much estrogen and ZERO progesterone. So I take hormones and supplements to correct those problems. I just ran out of my supplements and I can’t believe what a difference they really make; I’m feeling fatigued and cranky and can’t wait to get my refill! The supplements are from the compounding pharmacy, customized for your body, so you can’t buy them in the health food store. That’s why you can’t pick up your prescription the same day; it takes at least 48 hours to make the supplements designed for your body. I eat 4 to 5 times a day. Small amounts, but I keep feeding my body, so I am never hungry!

I just repeated my saliva test and will find out in a few weeks where I am and exactly how the bioidentical hormone therapy is working for me, I can’t wait. I will be sure to post my follow-up lab results for all to see. I remember you said you went to go see a BodyLogicMD physician, how were your results? Thanks for your comments and I hope to hear from you soon!

It has taken us years to get our hormones out of whack, so it can take a couple months to get them balanced again. I know you want results immediately and it is hard to wait (I’ve been there) but it takes time for you and your doctor to find the right mix and amount of medication to achieve the perfect results for your body. In the meantime, feel free to email or call your doctor anytime. My friend Ellen and I have talked about how great BodyLogicMD doctors are in comparison to other doctors. You can email a question or concern on a Friday and actually get a response on a Saturday; you get that individual care. Hang in there, it’ll happen for you.
