Wanna know my biggest fears in starting my bioidentical journey? All my tests coming back normal. Crazy talk, right? Who wants “abnormal” test results? Who wants to find out their hormone levels are out of whack? I do! It would explain why my period decided to make an early appearance this month. It would explain why I cry all the time. It would explain why I have gained 10 pounds this past year. (Surely that wasn’t the food lust!) It would explain why I walk around with a dark cloud 3 weeks out of the month. It would explain why I want to hurl my soda can at the guy who keeps walking by my office with the squeaky shoes.
Intuitively, I know it must be a hormonal imbalance. These symptoms are new. The only time I have come close to feeling this way is when I was pregnant. What is pregnancy but a giant ball of hormonal imbalance!? I am certainly not pregnant, so what could be causing this change in my personality? It’s not stress, it’s not my job, and it’s not my family. All of those things are very stable. It has to be the hormones! Right?
I will take a deep breath, get my blood drawn, wait until my proper spitting day, and hope for the best.
