Easter and Menopause

Good Morning, Menopause Maniacs!

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday. Have you ever really thought about the symbolism behind Easter – beyond its obvious religious meanings? It’s actually quite fitting for menopause. It’s a day of rebirth and revival. Christ rose from the tomb to herald in a new age of Christianity. Even before Christianity, this time of year was one of rebirth and rejuvenation. Winter has passed and the green splendor of spring has begun.

Compare that to what we women go through during menopause and post menopause. Menopause is our winter, or our time in that dark tomb. It can be hard, but we make it through it. And then, finally, our “spring” arrives as we rise out of that menopausal tomb into a new period of our lives. Those menopausal symptoms fade and we can finally embrace the freedom and promise of our post-menopausal life.

Until next time,

Ruth
