Focus on Yourself

Menopause isn’t just the end of your reproductive years — it’s the beginning of the rest of your life. I don’t think enough women realize this, going into the change. As your body chemicals shift, so do your priorities. When you’re young and fertile, your body sets you up to be nurturing and self-sacrificing. You work yourself to the bone for the sake of everyone else. You have to take care of your kids, your husband and your friends.

But then, menopause comes and everything changes. You come into yourself and learn to live for your sake, instead of everyone else’s. Now, that doesn’t mean that you can’t still be a nurturing, loving woman. But you begin to realize that you don’t have to sacrifice yourself so much to do it.

Until Next Time,

Ruth
