Hormone Harmony really is a good read!
Thanks for the suggestion Carrie!
After reading your book review of Hormone Harmony, I decided to go out a buy a copy for myself. After reading the first chapter, I literally couldn’t put it down. And you’re so right about most medical books – dry, boring and filled with technical jargon that only a physician could understand. This book was indeed different though – it speaks to the layman. In her book, Dr. Alicia Stanton discusses how diet, lifestyle and environmental factors can contribute to hormonal imbalance and jeopardize our overall well-being.
After reading her book, I realized that the reason I was feeling tired all the time and gaining more weight than usual wasn’t because I was getting old, but because my hormones were out of whack. In her book, Stanton talks about how bioidentical hormones can help mitigate many of the symptoms of menopause, so I recently scheduled an appointment with a physician who specializes in bioidentical hormone therapy to determine whether or not menopause is to blame. I see that many of you “maniacs” have already started treatment and many of you are feeling great. I hope that I can come back and post a success story of my own in the near future. I’ll keep you all posted on my progress.
And by the way, if any of you haven’t read Dr. Stanton’s book, you can read the entire first chapter online, for free, by clicking here: Dr. Alicia Stanton’s Hormone Harmony
