Rawr!

Are you a cougar?  Urban Dictionary has several definitions.  The following is my favorite:

Hot and sexy older woman, usually in her 40s or 50s, single or married, who is sick of her same-age counterparts which are usually hairless, have big guts, who only talk about their insurance premiums and have the TV remote control attached to their hands. Cougars are attractive, in their sexual prime, who know what they want and aren’t afraid to go after it. BIG misconception is that they dress cheap, wear hot pink nail polish, animal skin prints and are not-so-attractive old-looking hags with bleached hair (Yeah those women exist, but they are NOT cougars). True cougars are classy, beautiful creatures who have made their successes on their own, have real brains, usually with expensive cars/homes, and are real head turners. Cougars seek younger men, and don’t have to sneak up and attack…they know their younger mates are eager to get an experienced woman who won’t ask if they’ll call them the next day. Being a cougar is a positive thing.

Heck, just reading that makes me WANT to be a cougar!  Lucky for me, my same-age counterpart has no big gut, has all his hair, and no TV remote….wait, that’s a vicious lie!  Mr. Maniac loves his remote!

ABC has a new show out called “Cougar Town”.  Out of curiosity, I thought I would check it out.  Can I just start out by saying I want Courtney Cox’s hair?  It’s so long, flowy and shiny!  I think the funniest part of the episode recently was when Courtney’s character decides to go out partying to make some fun party memories.  The pictures they took were hilarious.  I have many of those, in fact!  When I am showing them to people I always say “Really, I’m not as drunk as I look!” [I just have to get my resveratrol in! LOL]  I am not sure they believe me, but I have some great pictures!

When Courtney’s character was in a discussion with a man about getting older he said “When women get old it’s icky.  When men get older it’s adorable.”  That irritated me!  ICKY?  Really?  ICKY?  How old are you?

Look, we’re all getting older.  Some of us are gaining weight, some losing our hair, some completely hormonally imbalanced.  We aren’t icky or adorable.  We’re just getting older!  Hopefully having fun and keeping a sense of humor throughout the process.

Let’s just hope we have more “cougar” days and less “oh holy crap I can’t sit up any straighter to keep the fat from folding over my jeans” days.

Hugs, Cougars!

Somehow I just cannot relate to the cougar formely known as Monica. She is not heavy, she has plenty of hair and she is adorable. I think they should have cast someone like Kathy Bates…now she is someone I can relate to 🙂

OK..don’t know if this is the right area…but I am 41…always high estrogen:progesterone ratio. So–was taking progesterone last two weeks of month…WONDERFUL improvement. But I had a Novasure ablation due to anemia and massive fibroids in May–no period since—That is wonderful-but how to know WHEN to use progesterone. I stopped a few days ago–as it seemed that I was cramping–therefore time to stop…..But I feel so jittery–legs and arms…general unsettling…since yesterday. I know this is hormones (potentially too many cups of coffee)….ANY suggestions? You guys seem to have seen it all!!!!

Hi Kendall, I have never experienced the jitters (from anything other than coffee). I think Monica talks about it in her last blog but it might have been from one of the supplements she was taking. Are you taking bioidentical hormones or the synthetic hormones?
What state are you located in? I am sure there is a doctor near you who works with BHRT.
Please let us know how you are doing tomorrow, and what state you are in. There is probably a Bodylogic MD near you, but hopefully tomorrow (the 14th) is a better day!
