Surviving Symptoms: Hot Flashes and Night Sweats
Good Afternoon, Menopause Maniacs!
Hot flashes and night sweats were never my worst menopause symptoms, but I certainly had my fare share of both. There were plenty of things I learned over the years of dealing with them, but I think among the most immediately useful is this: dress for them.
When you’re dealing with these horrid temperature fluctuations, I think you should always be prepared in how you dress. Layers are your friends. You can always pull off a sweater or overshirt to help you cool off. If your hair is long, keep a hair clip or band at easy access to pull your hair back, off of your face and neck. And focus on fabrics that wick away sweat! Not all women sweat during a hot flash, but if you do, you’ll feel a lot worse if your clothing traps that sweat against your skin.
