These last 3 weeks have been a whirlwind!
Wow, it has been 3 weeks since my last post…I guess it is true that time flies when you are having fun! Well, not sure that what I have been doing can be classified as fun…truth be told I am a little burnt. I have been on the road since early September. This month I have been in San Diego, San Francisco, Houston, and am currently working in Ashburn, VA. I have been working 12 hour days, 6 days a week, and I am tired…but even so, I don’t think I could have done it 6 months ago! Even though I am tired, and I am burnt, and I miss my husband and my dogs, I am hanging in there…and I truly believe the “hormonies” have something to do with it!
First let me say to my favorite Maniac, Monica, I hope YOU hang in there! I am bummed that you are not experiencing results as quickly as I did but I was told when I started with BodyLogicMD that most women don’t really start noticing a difference for at least 3 – 6 months. I guess I am one of the lucky ones…could be that because I am a decade older than you, and was therefore more messed up, that I just naturally felt better, faster. I hope that you don’t give up.
Now, I need to let you all know that I finally had my second appointment on Aug. 31st, at which time Dr. Grossman went over the results from my second saliva test. Evidence that Bioidentical Hormone Therapy is affecting me:
Testosterone – was very low before I started. New tests show as normal – this explains, at least in my mind, why I think about sex so much now! (And not how to avoid it, but how to get it!)
Estrogen – was low when I saw my Kaiser doctor, then normal a few months later when I tested with BodyLogicMD. Hot flashes had stopped but then started again. This time the tests showed that my Estrogen levels had again dropped, which would explain the return of the hot flashes.
Dr. Grossman spent about an hour with me, again…actually the first time he saw me it closer to an hour and a half…anyway…he went over my results and my medications with me one by one. We also talked about my diet, what I had been doing, what I had not been doing, and what I should start doing. Once again I was impressed by the personalized service I got from my BodyLogicMD. And some of the simplest changes he recommended I make have made a huge difference in the last 3 weeks…but I will save that for my next blog.
Just so I don’t forget stay tuned for: “Estrogen update – did I do it?” “Gluten – Should I give it up?” and “Fiber – My new best friend!”
